WP7 is hosting a conference on European Public Sphere, Civil Society and Civic Mass Media.
The conference
The conference is aimed at researchers, activists of transnational and national NGOs, media institutions in Europe. Young scholars, doctoral students and researchers from Eastern and Central Europe are encouraged to submit abstracts.
The conference will address the research question under such headings:
- European Public Space and Europeanization of National Public Spheres
- Contentious Politics, Social Movements and the Role of Mass Media
- Conflicts and Media Responsibilities: In Search for Civic Media in Europe
- Legitimacy, Identity Politics and Mass Media
- Antidiscrimination Agenda and Communication between Civil Society and the EU
Deadline for proposals 19 March 2007.
Paper abstracts of approximate 400 words should be sent to Kristina Juraité k.juraite@pmdi.vdu.lt
Costs
The conference will be free of charge for paper givers, all though participants should cover their travel costs.
