WP7 Objectives
- To clarify social construction of individual, collective, and multiple identities in mass media of the enlarged EU.
- To analyze in which ways the conceptual machinery, used by mass media in different countries of new Europe, shapes the perceptions of social and cultural citizenship in relation to European citizenship.
- To provide recommendations for media policy in the EU creating more favourable conditions for social cohesion in increasingly diversified societies.
WP7 Description of Work
- National teams meet at the workshop with the aim of developing a research design for comparative content-analyses of major national mass media units in participating countries;
- National research teams interpret national data and make comparative analysis according to research objectives;
- Research teams gather for the workshop to work out recommendations for the EU media policy;
- Participants of CINEFOGO gather for a final conference to discuss the results of the research.
