WP40 Training: The European Programme In Civil Society Leadership

NEW DATES: A Trans-European Top Executive Programme is composed of eighteen days divided into four modules that will be held in four academic capitals of Europe. The first module starts in March 2009 in Stockholm and the last runs in November 2009 in Dublin.

The Mission

There is a growing desire among leaders in European civil society organisations (CSOs) to challenge their basic assumptions, develop their formal knowledge base and expand their personal networks.

With a fi rm base in our own frontline research, our aim is to strengthen and enhance the strategic and analytical capacity of European civil society organisations.

We intend to be the knowledge partners of those changing the future.

Curriculum Information

Research based programme

The programme is designed and delivered by leading European research centres and scholars. Our faculty will present and introduce state-of-the-art civil society research. We will focus on relevant strategic and managerial issues facing CSO leaders and managers. We will deal with the challenges of the future across the four modules.

Assignement & Field trips

The programme is designed to integrate and bridge the different modules as well as theory and praxis. In each module time is dedicated for fi eld trips to a selection of interesting organisations. The participants will also work on assignments during and between the modules. The assignments will be reviewed by key actors from academia and the CSO world.

Networking & Experience

An important aspect of the programme is the mix of participants from diff erent CSOs and in diff erent countries. Participants will meet and work with scholars from a variety of academic disciplines and with a range of research interests. These encounters will create challenging experiences, and help build professional contacts and potential future strategic partners.
