WP34 Objectives
- To explore the relationship between civil society and the public actions of non-government institutions
- To asses the challenges, constraints and dilemmas in the role of non-profit organisations and especially NGOs in the process of policy making
- To exchange ideas and to disseminate knowledge on civil society, non-profit institutions and NGO’s in European countries as well as world wide between the members of the three organisations – CINEFOGO, EMES and ISTR
WP34 Description of work
- Preparation of a major international conference on the topic ‘Civil Society and NGOs in Policy Making – Challenges and Dilemmas’
- Organisation of a conference in Barcelona in June 2008 with participants from all parts of the World
- Preparation and publishing of the proceedings from the conference either as a CINEFOGO research report or a book published in the CINEFOGO Book Series – depending on the quality of the incoming papers
