WP25 Objectives

• To analyse the forms of participation and social capital in Europe using various data sources

• To write a research monograph as part of the CINEFOGO series with Edward Elgar
• To prepare and edited collection of papers related to this theme which could become a special issue of a journal or an edited book collection
• To organise one planning meeting, at least one editorial meeting and two seminars to discuss the above objectives.

WP25 Description of Work

The work package will start with a planning meeting involving partners from CINEFOGO. The activities of this work package will co-ordinate closely with those of WP 11, since there are some confluent activities planned.

The second stage of the work package will involve the data collection and analysis required for the publication projects.

The third stage of the work package will be a seminar to bring together people to present papers and discuss the contributions that could become part of the edited collection, A fourth stage will involve a meeting between the editors of the volume for one or two weeks in order to pull the collection together.

The first research monograph would be written by Claire Wallace and Florian Pichler and would represent their work carried out on the Eurbarometer 62.2 over the last year on the topic of patterns of social capital across Europe.

The second edited collection, will be edited by the main work package participants and will draw on a wider range of topics within the general theme of social capital and forms of participation. One theme will be on well-being and citizen participation and another will be on young people and social participation or media as a source of participation.
