About Jean Louis Laville

Originally an Economist, Jean Louis Laville is Doctor of Sociology and Head of Research at Centre Nationale de Recherche Scientifique (Paris), where he supervises the team at the Centre of Research and Information on Democracy and Autonomy (CRIDA) that is situated at the Laboratory of Sociology of Institutional Change (LSCI).  He is responsible for managing the Collection sociologie économique of Editions Desclée de Brouwer.

Jean Louis Laville contributes to university journals and he is member of several entities such as the advisory committee to Sociologie du travail (Paris, France) ;  the International Board of Économie et solidarités, revue du Centre interuniversi­taire de recherche, d’information et d’enseignement sur les coopératives (ciriec); the International Editing Committee  of  Nouvelles pratiques socials (Québec, Canada); the Editorial Board of Voluntas : International Journal of Voluntary and Nonprofit Organizations, Kluwer Academic - Plenum Publishers (New York, United States); the International Scientific Committee of  Sociologia e politiche sociali, Éditions FrancoAngeli and the Editors Board of Sociologia del Lavoro, Éditions FrancoAngeli (Milan, Italy). Finally, he is also scientific correspondent of Lien social et politiques – riac (Québec, Canada).
