CIDEL - "Citizenship and Democratic Legitimacy in the EU" focus on the prospects for a citizens’ Europe through analysing what kind of order is emerging in Europe.
CiSoNet - "European Civil Society Network" deals with a most promising issue of European integration and enlargement: the emergence, dynamics and perspectives of a European-wide civil society. It aims at stimulating cross-disciplinary research that concentrates on transnational dimensions of civil society, thereby contributing to the building of a European research area in the social sciences and humanities.- CivGov - "Organised Civil Society and European Governance" - the aim of the research project is to examine the role of civil society organisations, broadly defined as Movement Advocacy coalitions (MACs) – comprised of social movements and issue activists and advocates – in articulating the preferences of European citizens into EU-level policy decisions.
- Democratic Values - "Value Systems of the Citizens and Socio-Economic Conditions - Challenges from Democratisation for the EU-Enlargement" identifies the social and cultural bases for an integration of the Central and European nations into the European Union.
DEMPART - "Democratic Participation and Political Communication in Systems of Multi-level Governance" deals with electoral participation and political communication in systems of multi-level governance (sub-national, national and supranational).- EGG - "Enlargement, Gender and Governance" examines the consequences of europeanisation and democratisation on the civic and political participation and representation of women in 10 accession countries of the EU.
ETGACE - "Education and Training for Governance and Active Citizenship in Europe: Analysis of Adult Learning and Design of Formal, Non-Formal and Informal Educational Intervention Strategies" - the project aims to improve educational interventions for tolerant, inclusive and accountable approaches to governance and active citizenship.
EU Border Identities project targets three-generation families living in corresponding sets of geographically contiguous communities on the border between the current EU and some of its Eastern and Southern neighbours.
EURONAT - "Representations of Europe and the Nation in Current and Prospective Member-States: Media, Élites and Civil Society" - this project was devoted to the study of European and national identities and the connections between them in nine European states (six EU member states and three associated states in Central and Eastern Europe) from an interdisciplinary and comparative perspective.
EUROPUB - "The European Public Space Observatory" is assembling information that allows the Monitoring of European Democracy.
EUROPUB.COM analyses the role of intermediary public spheres, and mass media and collective mobilisation in particular, in the process of European integration. It focuses on public spheres both as channels for citizen participation and the expression of citizenship identities, and as arenas in which EU policies and institutions can be held accountable and where their legitimacy is at stake. - IDNET - "Europeanization, Collective Identities and Public Discourses"
MAGEEQ - "Policy frames and implementation problems: The case of gender mainstreeming" - the project seeks to construct a conceptual framework to map out the various dimensions of gender equality policy frames and to improve methods for assessments of the (in)consistencies between various policy levels, in the field of gender equality policies, especially for Gender Mainstreaming.
NEWR - "The Network for European Women's Rights" offers a platform for discussion on women's rights and on four of the most burning current issues in this field: trafficking, reproductive rights, political participation and social entitlements. It also provides a database of organisations and individuals involved in women's rights.- PUBACC - "Public Accountability in European Contemporary Contexts" re-examines the principle of public accountability in science and technology policy- and decision-making. The project reconsiders early modern British and continental European ideas of the public sphere, public life, and public accountability within contemporary contexts.
Youth and European Identity - "Orientations of Young Men and Women to Citizenship and European Identity" - this project explores the views and experiences of young men and women, aged 18-24, concerning their identity, citizenship and attachment to locality, nation and Europe.
