Call for Coordinators for the European Values Network 2008
The EVN 2008 is looking for Coordinators on each of the policy topics, who will be guiding and facilitating proceeding of the working groups. The Coordinators will be especially responsible for preparation of background materials, moderating of workshops and conference panels, facilitating e-communication and editing final policy-papers.
The European Values Network 2008, which is a programme addressing most urgent policy issues, which runs under the patronage of the President of the European Parliament.
The aim of the EVN is to create a lively network of active European citizens who want to engage in searching for and formulating alternative solutions to make Europe freer, safer, stronger and more prosperous.
The EVN operates through working-groups of young experts, workshop-meetings in Brussels, e-communication and final conference in Prague. The outcome of the EVN is a publication of policy-papers.
Within the EVN 2008 (February - June) will be written policy papers on the following topics:
- Legitimate government in the EU: What system for the formation of the European Commission?
- New architecture for Europe: How to integrate the Eastern EU neighbours without offering a full membership?
- Illegal immigration? What effective measures to prevent it?
- New security environment: What strategies for transatlantic partners?
- Economy: How to ensure social consensus while making Europe competitive?
The EVN 2008 requires from the Coordinators:
- completed university degree
- perfect command of English
- expertise in a chosen policy topic of the EVN 2008
- excellent communication skills and experience in moderating of workshops
- accordance with the EVN Mission Statement and its values
The EVN 2008 offers to the Coordinators:
- policy-oriented work in a dynamic international team
- insight debates with top EU opinion and policy makers
- participation in policy-papers editorial team
- financial remuneration
