SAGE to publish Bulletin on Sociological Methology

Los Angeles, London, New Delhi, Singapore and Washington DC (31 July 2009) – SAGE, the world’s leading independent academic and professional publisher, is delighted to announce a new partnership with the International Association of Sociological Methodology (AIMS) to publish their journal, Bulletin of Sociological Methodology (BMS).

The BMS is a quarterly peer-reviewed scientific journal specializing in all aspects of sociological methodology, publishing in both English and French. Each volume of the BMS contains research articles, extensive book and article reviews, as well as documentation and information on different centres of sociology and important meetings throughout the world. The April and October issues of BMS contain the Newsletter of the RC33, the International Sociological Association (ISA) research committee on Logic and Methodology.

SAGE is the leading publisher in research methods, with more than 1200 books, journals and reference works across the social and behavioral sciences. The BMS joins a high profile collection of journals including Qualitative Inquiry; Qualitative Research and Sociological Methods & Research.

“SAGE has supported researchers for more than forty years with a diverse programme of publishing in research methods, and the BMS is an ideal addition to that programme,” commented Ziyad Marar, Publishing Director and Deputy Managing Director, SAGE. “We’re looking forward to working with the AIMS and the whole of the BMS editorial team as the journal moves into its 26th year of publication.”

“After a quarter of a century of publishing internationally recognized and appreciated research in sociological methodology in both English and French, the BMS and RC33 have joined hands with SAGE, the world's major publisher in the field, to enter the global mainstream of empirical sociological research,” said Karl van Meter, Sociologist at the CNRS. The journal will be published by SAGE from January 2010. Further details will be available from the SAGE website soon.

SAGE is a leading international publisher of journals, books, and electronic media for academic, educational, and professional markets. Since 1965, SAGE has helped inform and educate a global community of scholars, practitioners, researchers, and students spanning a wide range of subject areas including business, humanities, social sciences, and science, technology and medicine. An independent company, SAGE has principal offices in Los Angeles, London, New Delhi, Singapore and Washington DC. www.sagepublications.com
