Awards and Fellowships: Non Governmental Public Action Programme

Non-Governmental Public Action Programme at Centre for Civil Society, London School of Economics - New Awards and New Fellowships.

New Awards for Research Projects

The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Non-Governmental Public Action research programme, based at the Centre for Civil Society at the London School of Economics, is a unique opportunity to further understand the impact of non-governmental public action in reducing poverty and exclusion, and in social transformation, from an international comparative and multi-disciplinary perspective.

A large number of research projects have already been approved, but some New Awards will be offered for further research projects on the themes of accountability and legitimacy; violence, exclusion and  non-governmental public action; and faith-based groups.

New Fellowships

The ESRC NGPA programme has also set aside a sum of money to support some new Fellowships:

International Visiting Fellowships 

 - These are aimed at senior academics with recognised expertise in the area of  non-governmental public action. They will be handled by the NGPA programme (not the ESRC).

 Deadline: Applications should be submitted by Monday 24 April 2006.

User Fellowships

 - These are designed for user groups to either reflect upon a research theme relevant to and NGPA project and user group, or to work together with a project to develop the practical applications of the research project. These fellowships will be handled by the NGPA programme (not the ESRC) .

Deadline: Applications should be submitted by Monday 13 March 2006.

Post-doctoral Fellowships

 - on the themes of legitimacy and accountability, faith-based organisations, civil society, exclusion and violence will also be offered.  These will be handled by the ESRC, and information is published on the ESRC web-site.
